The Pakleni Islands archipelago is located near the island of Hvar and they are actually a tiny green paradise surrounded by astonishing waters of all shades of blue of the Adriatic Sea. The island formation consists of 16 little islands with no regular inhabitants except during some days in summer. Just one look at the drone footage of this archipelago will take your breath away, let alone swimming in this wonder of nature. The name of Pakleni islands is often mistranslated to mean Hell’s islands. Just one look at them will tell you that they look more like heaven. Their name is actually derived from the noun „paklina“ which denotes a melted down pine used to coat ships, described as „being black as hell“.
